Unfortunately visited when closed so can't comment on the inside. However, we still had a great time and did some lovely walks nearby. Great views down the glen from the castle and likewise from the glen back up toward the castle. We were still able to access some of the grounds around the castle which were nice. Will aim to revisit when open to get the full experience!
There are two car parks. The lower car park is bigger, the upper car park has 16 spaces and can be busy. The walk is shorter from the upper car park (around 5/10mins). It's a lovely castle with a very well kept tower with amazing views of Dollar Glen from the top. There are a few walks around the glen too, and if brave you can have a dip in the burn.
Great historic building surrounded by stunning scenery. We’ll worth climbing the tower to get a look at the view.
Castle looks beautiful from the outside closed for winter before walks and scenery to explore
Beautifully renovated in some parts! Stunning scenery with dramatic views!!! 😁
360 degree view on the top 👌
This is a very nice castle ruins to visit. You can enter, and there are some great views when you reach the top. When purchasing our tickets, we were greeted by two staffers. Both were happy to talk and to give you the history of the castle. Well worth the visit
Nicely preserved Castle. Beautiful grounds with picnic tables. Great staff as always
Fantastic Castle. Great value and loads of photo opportunities. Just a long walk from either car park so bare that in mind if you have elderly with you. But the castle is well maintained and quiet due to its location.
Highly recommended!
